Can not select "State/Province/Region" in SHOPPERS

Can anyone help please...

As per the subject line... in the VM configuration for the "Shopper"; I am unable to select State/Province/Region although the country is recognised

J 2.5.24  ||  VM 2.6.10

would normally be a JS error.
look in the console if the call is going out on country change

e.g.  http://www.xxx.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=state&format=json&virtuemart_country_id=13

have found even if it comes back the response can be corrupted by containing error reporting etc
