Can "Units in Box" be left empty?

I was going through some items that have already been put on our website and realized that someone forgot to put a number in the Units in Box category. Every item we carry contains 1 unit in each box. What would be the detriment to leaving that field blank? Below is a screenshot.

Can be blank - only needed if you have so many units to a box etc
