best sale feature

I'm using virtue mart 2.0.24c and have installed the products module. The 'best sale' feature is not working properly, because it is showing random products in the homepage. I tried to switch the same module to show "featured" products and it's working fine. Is this a known bug or is there a way to manually increase the number of sales of one product for test purposes ?

in 2.6.4 you can set it - no idea if available in your old version
