emails notification is not functional

Dear all,
I have joomla 2.5.18 and virtuemat 2.0.16d and I have problem with sending of notification emails. I have setted "mail settings" in joomla global configuration to gmail account. But I cannot receive any email about orders. Where can be problem?

Hi PSM
Have you checked the obvious first?

1) It's not gone in junk
2) The email address is correct
3) The server can send emails - if this is your local host unless you have configured it to send them it won't
4) Have you updated the right plugin / component that sends them?

What notification settings are you expecting to receive?

Hello Jazaja,
thanks for reply. Today, I found out where is problem. First I tried to send mass email to users, if joomla email is functional. I found out, that it is functional, so problem had to be somewhere in virtuemart. Then I found out, that problem was here:
"Default Order Status to send email to vendor" - options, when email should be sent.

I do not have choose option, that I want to send email to admin, when customer confirm the order.
