Hello,

I have already spent a lot of time with migrating Joomla 1.5.26/VM1.1.9 to Joomla 1.5.26/VM2.0.12f. I have made that step, my joomla 1.5.26 is now with VM2.0.12f. I have chosen for 2.0.12f because this is last version wich support joomla 1.5, if i have read it well (http://virtuemart.net/news/list-all-news/426-end-of-life-for-virtuemart-11-heidelpay-now-in-virtuemart-2012.
But now I want to upgrade this Joomla 1.5.26/VM2.0 to Joomla 2.5 with VM2.0. Is there a tutorial which does explain how to do this? Or do I have to fill my webshop manual?

Thanks,

Nico

Install Joomla 2.5.18 (current version) in a subdirectory below your 1.5.16 site. On that 2.5 you should now install VM2.0.12f and SP Upgrade.  This is used to grab the Joomla data from J1.5 and enter it into j2.5's database.  Get the 2.5 site basics working and then check VM2. You may need to use phpMyAdmin to copy over the VM database tables if they are not all migrated (you may need to change the table prefix). Copy the product/category images over from 1.5 to 2.5 and start testing.

I generally takes me longer to migrate Joomla than it does to migrate VirtueMart.

Note1: the J1.5 site remains intact, as SP copies over and converts the database to the new installation without damaging the original.
Note2: you could possibly install 2.0.26d an j1.5 and 2.5 and use that for the migration. Itwill install on J1.5, although it won't run due to ACL errors.
