Can anyone please explaine why VirtueMart adds (online-marketing) in URL ( http://www.fuenteproducten.nl/online-marketing/conditioners-maskers)

I want to get rid of it.

yes I know - but this is normal SEF url generation...

your http://www.fuenteproducten.nl/index.php?option=com_virtuemart translates as http://www.fuenteproducten.nl/online-shop

then a product is

http://www.fuenteproducten.nl/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=productdetails&virtuemart_product_id=389&virtuemart_category_id=48&Itemid=482
http://www.fuenteproducten.nl/online-marketing/shampoos/shampoo-detail

the option=com_virtuemart is the online-marketing

shampoos is cat

it is "effectively" a subfolder of online-marketing

if you don't like it just change the alias to something else - shop - winkel  - what ever

if you want it gone altogether guess you'll have to hack a router file somewhere

Open the Joomla main menu manager and select the SHOP item. Then look at the alias shown below the Menu title. It will be "online-shop". If you hover your mouse pointer over the word Alias then you will see why it appears in the url.
