Shipment options

Hi,

First i'd like to say thank you to virtuemart for providing a free online store solution.

Now to the problem..
Im struggling to configure the shipment options. When i add a product to the cart and then proceed to checkout, it says 'no shipment selected' but i have configured a shipment option.
What i would like to know is how to make a module whereby you just select the shipment option regardless of the weight, where its being shipped to, ZIP etc.
I want to be able to select a shipment option without putting the weight of each individual product into the product info.
