Shop Homepage shows latest regardless of settings

I have attached a picture of my settings in the backend.

You can see on my shop homepage, the latest items appear below my categories even though I have elected to have them hidden.
What have I missed?

Hello,

This is not the virtuemart frontpage but the category page, the products you see below is not the latest, recently, etc products but the products belogs under the category you have select in the menu item
