For a customer I have to build a website where he can buy and sell gold. Selling isn't a problem, because the shopping cart is made for it. What about a buying process for gold. Is it possible to do that in another selling category without payment and a shopping cart (or instead a selling shopping cart besides the current buying shopping cart)? The customer has to get a confirmation for the price he sells the gold to the company by email. Who can help me with this? Thanks.

Hi, did you ever sort out the buying part of this?
I have been trying to sort this myself but no answer, support on customers selling to you is totally zero and all you get replied with it a website where someone else did finally do it but on Virtuemart 1.

davink, it is easily possible with VirtueMart 2; you effectively split the site into two main areas or categories, selling and buying, using template & language overrides to remove add to cart etc from the selling side and change the words used, and use an email form (such as the ask a question form) for the customer to request a quote.

It was outlined also in http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=108741.msg364307#msg364307

Any advances on a buy and sell capability for websites, maybe a splited cart or double cart solution. I think the demand for this solution will continue to grow, specially for second hand or used products

If you want it then just build it. It's not rocket science, just a case of planning what you need and setting it up, adding in any plugins etc that may be needed.
