Manufactuer Name not appearing on Product Details Page

Hi I am using joomla 2.5.7 and Virtuemart 2.0.12 and for some reason the manufacturer name will not appear in the product details page. I ahve ticked the ox within the configuration>templates to show it but it is no wehre to be seen, i am doing something very silly here ?
