Is it possible to specify one product as a child of another?

Hi, all:

Joomla 2.5.7 + VirtueMart 2.0.10

I'm wondering if I'm able to  specify an arbitrary product as a child of another product?
Currently, it seems the only thing I can do to add a child product is to open the father product first, and then add a child product, finally, modify the child product. If I made something wrong but input the child product's info first, can I specify this child product is a son of another? I hope it is possible If it's impossible, this is a defect of VM2.0.10, which can be improved in the future.
