Why guest checkout?

Why not force people to make an account at your shop? Then you'll have all the data you need to pay and ship an order.
It's ok for for guests to look around, but when it comes to the actual order...
My advise: Use SSL and a captcha module, force people to give the data to login and ONLY accept orders from customers that have an account on your webshop.
Otherwise YOU (or your customer) might have a (legally) burden...

I don't know off the problem with automaticly selected payment and shipping is solved, but for me I solved it like this.
Every article I choose customer group -default- and -anonymous- and I did the same in the shipment and payment configuration.
I have 2 shipsments 1 under 50 euro and 1 above 50 euro and in the configuration I numberd them as 1 and 2 by the option 'order', VM (VM2.8a) selected now automaticly the right one.

In that case, the AUTOMATIC PAYMENT METHOD SELECT option sounds like a stupid option.

We have one payment gateway and its like confusing the end user and asking him to goto another page to select the payment page.

Guys, you will lose huge  number of sales this way.

Either Virtuemart 2 has to improve or lets go AceShop way!
