Newb question on using VM 2 Template within a J! 2.5 Template

Hello All, I did scour (search) the forums for an answer but nothing came up.

I have an existing Joomla! 2.5 site with a default Template installed. Now I have installed VM 2 (love it), but I need to display my Product(s) and VM Home page using a VM Template (which has much better layout, formatting, css, etc etc.). I know how to installed another J! VM Template in the site and assign it to Menu items etc. but this override clobbers the main J! Template and shows the new VM Template page.

What I am trying to achieve is to better format and display my Products within my Template. Is there any 'easy' way to accomplish this? Or should I focus on my Default J! Template by adding/modifying the CSS/Styles.

Any and all suggestions, examples, and advice is greatly appreciated.
