Shipment for Virtual Products:Download Link works for anyone if someone sends it

Let's say one pays and downloads an mp3 with the extension of virtuemart for virtual products.

When i am provided with the link in my email , I notice that one can send the URL of the downloadable file and then anyone can download from that link .


How can this be avoided. Because it's way too easy to download without paying .

One can send the URL of the download link to anyone .

How can it be blocked that one uses the URL link and can't send it and be downloadable ?

This can in general not be avoided. No one can do it.

BUT, with the new version, you can specify how often someone is allowed to download it, or in which timeframe. So just check your orders and download the latest version.

I use Joomla Version 1.5.23 , Virtuemart 2.0.8c and st42_download1.0.6 .

Is there a new version out ?

How do I set up how often one is allowed in these versions ?

Do I have to purchase  plgvm_istraxx_download_vm2.0.6_1.2.zip too ?

I'm trying to download the latest version of the shipment plugin but i get this message :VMCUSTOM_ST42_DOWNLOAD_MAXDOWNLOADSPERINTERVAL_REACHED

I just downloaded the last version 3-4 times max, and now I cannot download the new one to solve my problem!

I really had enough with this plugin, I've payed 35 euros for this, and just had many bugs till now, and the bad of it all no one answers your emails, and seems there is no support at all!

Hope someone will listen !  >:(

This link is provided many times on the page and even within the plugin.

You get the message, because you downloaded it too often the last 30 days, it is configured to allow a certain amount of downloads per month to prevent that people just give away the link. So you just reached the limit. Just write to the support above and we will take care of your case.

Dear Milbo,

Exactly I contacted the support through this link many times, and I got a confirmation email that my message was sent, but had no answer at all, the last message I sent was on "Thursday, July 19, 2012 7:23:35 PM"
Unfortunately other confirmation emails are deleted, but I'm sure they were more than 3!

Please check the system, maybe you are not getting emails through this form!
Anyway I will send a new request regarding the downloads, actually I don't remember how many times I downloaded the file but not more than 5 times.
So please for other users, just mention that users cannot download it often so we know, as I didn't know this, else I didn't download it that often.

We get every day messages due this form. It is the normal standard joomla contact form. You must enter an email and a name, not just the message. Btw at the 19. july we got a message and answered it. Maybe the answers are in your spam filter?

Today I helped an user for an hour, just to find out it is his layout overrides, so please consider:
"The most problems arise due template overrides and 3rd party extensions. So before contacting the support and claiming that something is not working, try it always before without template overwrites. You can easily disable them by renaming the com_virtuemart folder in joomlaRoot/yourTemplate/html/ ."
