BIT Change Shopper Group for Virtuemart

With this plugin you can change the shoppergroup of your customers. This can be useful e.g. if you need different calculation & tax rules for anonymous visitors and customers who perform a guest checkout or if you would like to offer different shopper groups to your customers.

Plugin features:

• assign a specified shopper group or
• let the customers select a shoppergroup during checkout or
• assign a specified shopper group upon filling in a certain shopper field
• handling of guests and registered customers
• select different groups for guests and registered customers

Supported languages: english, german, portuguese (Brazil)

System requirements: Joomla! 2.5/3 and Virtuemart 2.x/3.x

Ours is a Spanish site and we have 6 use cases for charging or not charging VAT:

So if someone has a valid VAT ID it still depends on their location (Spain or EU - non-Spain) to determine whether or not to charge the VAT.  Does your extension handle this?

The module itself cannot handle the validation of VATIDs. But we have a "companion plugin" that can do that task.
With those 2 plugins you can establish the tax rules that are needed for a European B2B shop.
If the shop only addresses end customers, the plugin can be used on its own.
