Hi

I am working on a test server and had a web/techy person help me to set up a template in Joomla and install Virtuemart.  The template that was purchased was from America and isn't very flexible it seems... my techy/web person can now not help and says I need somebody more technical to make PayPal and the shipping facility to work.  Please can somebody help with this or recommend somebody in the UK to help with this - I am pulling my hair out?!

Much appreciated

Hi,

Did you try to create a payment or a shipment method?
Go in VirtueMart administration,
and choose the menu Shop, and then Payment methods. And create a new one.

Hi

Thanks for your response - yes we tried that but it's still not working...
I'm not sure if the template is restricting things.  I've added the paypal api details but it's still not appearing or working.
And as for the shipping, I'm not sure what shipping to add and how?  i was told Royal Mail was a pain to implement because of the weights etc...?
Thanks for your help.

Hi,
QuoteI'm not sure if the template is restricting things.
No i don't think so.

Did you installed both components: com_virtuemart and com_virtuemart_aio?

When creating a new payment / shipment method you should have a select list on the first tab. Select the payment method you need, Press save, and then you have the parameters in the configuration tab.

It wasn't me who did it, it was somebody else so I'm assuming he did it. Paypal did appear in the list but then it disappeared and when I try to add it, it won't work.  And the shipping doesn't have royal mail as an option, it's all American firms or firms such as ups etc...
Thanks for your help....

Sounds like you have the older version of VirtueMart installed, VM1.1.9  - this forum section is for the more recent version,  VirtueMart 2. Check the version shown at the bottom of the VirtueMart admin area.

And in both versions of VM there is no Royal Mail shipping, you have to use Standard Shipping and enter the relevant weights/values.
