2.0.2 update- unable to view product pages

Since we've updated virtuemart from version 2.0 to version 2.0.2, the system has been unable to load product detail pages, instead loading a blank page with the name of the product highlighted an html link. We are using the latest version of Joomla (2.5.1), and the site is currently running on a XAMPP localhost. I'm not sure if this is a bug, or if we have to change a setting somewhere to make the system work again.
Any help at all to get this problem resolved would be very much appreciated, thanks.

Thank you so much for the help. Though I couldn't find the code you had asked to search for, I tried using the .txt file you had posted up, which fixes the problem, whatever it might have been.

oh in fact I see it atm as an release strategy error of us. I should have set them to deprecated, but we cleaned the code for old rubbish and then I deleted it. On the other hand, how much people replace the use of deprecated functions, when they are not forced to.
