Which is the latest release?

Hallo folks, I'm a bit confused.
I just downloaded com_virtuemart2.0.0_RC3_Pre_f_extract_first.zip from here http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/files and installed both the nested zip archives.
Release date of this archive is: 07-12-2011 05:43. So I assume this is the latest.
Anyway, after (succesfull) installation (but I still miss Virtuemart link into Joomla's component menu. Even if I ignore the error message on installation this doesn't fix the bug itself), an alert message on the left panel of Virtuemart suggests me to update Vm to the latest 2.0.0RC3...
Following that link, in the following window I have:
Version installed: 2.0.0RC3
Latest version: 1.9.8M
Latest version's release date: 2011-11-09
Direct link: http://virtuemart.net/component/ars/?view=download&id=19

So, which is the true latest version?

BTW: what "Pre_f" is for?

thats the latest beta version. Do not use the live updater

So, may be either there are still some bugs or I wrong something:
joomla 1.7.3, vm_2.0_RC3
vm configuration:
Enable Automatic Selected Shipment ? not selected
Enable Automatic Selected Payment ? not selected
Must agree to Terms of Service on EVERY ORDER? selected

even if the user have to agree the terms on EVERY ORDER, the checkout is processed regularly with unchecked checkbox

If the user is already logged:
1. it is not possible to add/edit a shipping address at the checkout
2. it is not possible to select a shipping method (it works fine if the user is not yet logged in)
3. it is not possible to select a payment method (it works fine if the user is not yet logged in)

Have I set something wrong?
