What VM2 & Joomla 1.7 modules are you using?

I am looking for a module to add to my homepage that features products in the online store.

Something like a module to feature three or four products similar to how VM features products.  But I want this to be on the home page.  Any ideas what i could use?

Before you say the VM product slideshow module, I have tried that one, it doesn't work on my installation unfortunately. It kills the website.   

What modules are you using for VM2 (1.98M) and J1.7?

Can you not just use the VM products module?

did you install the AIO component that has like 5 modules in it?
