Thumbnail instead of dropdown in generic child variant

Thank you in advance for the help!
I' developing a small e-commerce and my products have different colors.  I created a generic child variant custom field for the different colors and it works perfectly. well I would like to show the thumbnails of the children products (the different colors) instead of the dropdown.
Is there any component/plugin or someone that can tell me how to do that?

I don't know a ready plugin for this, but it is possible to develop your own plugin or modify the existing one.
