Online / Offline shop with POS in the UK

Does anyone have any experience with virtuemart and setting up and online shop with POS in the UK.

Am looking at a variety of ecommerce solutions but i cannot decide whats best for in the U.

I basically need to set up an online store that shortly after launch i will be able to integrate with the stock in a shop which can take payments by cash / card and manage stock in store scanning barcodes etc.

Anybody here that can help?
