Customfield plugin empty fields when clone

Hi!
I bought a plugin which allows multi-selection and search module for values. The extension allows to search products  according to parameters (fields).
Problem is that there is a bug in cloning products that developers are aware of but they said they don't know how to fix it.
(I have old Virtuemart version 2.0.08  but I can not update it beacause then I loose important custom scripts made for my eshop.So this is not solution for me)

When I create new product and save, then data (customfield values) is saved.
When I try to clone the product, all custom fields are empty. Name,price,images etc are cloned but custom fields are not.

Does anyone have idea how to fix this problem? Cloning products are important for my shop but I don't know how to fix it and neighter do developers .
