liquidgrid plugin only works on VM pages?

Hi, I'm using VM 2.6.6 with Joomla 2.5.20: I implemented the Atomic templates "liquidgrid" plug and it works on all VM pages. I added it in to the coding of the template via the admin panel's access to the main template pages. The URL uses the "base URL" code tags followed by the hardcoded address to the css file.

But for some reason, the Joomla pages (eg. Joomla homepage and login-related pages) don't react to the plugin even though the same template is used site-wide. I have VM and joomla installed in the same subdirectory, and don't (yet) use Joomla separately from VM.

Any ideas what I've overlooked? In the meantime I'm using a plugin to force the URL of that css on all the pages and it works - but it also means that the same css is being called up twice now on the VM pages...

Is apparently a Joomla problem. Ask on the Joomla 2.5 forum.
