I have added all the api data it needs but still it stays in sandbox mode. As I am in the uk I don't have payflow, could this be the issue> I only want paypal as a payment method at the moment, as I am just starting out.

I used to have vm1 and that was a breeze compared to this. Can I still get VM1?

HELP!!!! before I restart the whole damn site again with a different cart

Which version of VM?    http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=79799.0

Which PayPal product are you setting up? Express, Standard or what? Have you read http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=122595.0

VM2 is far more powerful than that old version ever was but does require more thought to configure.

Hi thanks for trying to help here.

I am using VM 2.6.0, I am trying to just install the standard paypal payment method. I did read the link you gave me (at least 3 times to see what I was doing wrong but still cant see what I am doing wrong.

I will take you through it step by step of what I have done.

on the list of plugins the only active one is VM Payment - Paypal.
I select Virtuemart>payment methods
I select new and enter: Payment Name  - Paypal
self alias - paypal
Drop down box I select VM Payment - Paypal. Then save
I click the config tab and it says "Warning - PayPal is set in sandbox mode. No real money is transferred and this is not suitable for live sites" under the production and sandbox buttons.    Note: the production radio button is highlighted here not the sandbox button.

I enter the API username, password and signature and press save.

Still the same message:

API certificate > drop down list and select paypal_cert_pem.txt  press save and still same message

enter my merchant email and save    - still same message

I haven't changed anything else, this is exactly as I entered it just now, I deleted all the payment methods I had tried before because none of it worked.

Any ideas?

All you need to do on the config page for Standard payment is to select Standard under basic parameters and then enter the Merchant Email which is further down the page - remove any other entries you have made. You will still see the warning message on the current plugin version, but ignore it as it is intended for the other PayPal methods. Make sure the method is published and away you go. The Sandbox message will then go away.
