jQuery update help needed!

After installing Unite Revolution Slider I get this error below.  Can someone please explain to me how I can update my jQuery to the at least 1.7.1?  Please dummy down your explanation since I'm a beginner.

The Current Version of jQuery:1,6,1
Please update your jQuery Version to min. 1.7 in Case you wish to use the Revolution Slider Plugin

I'm currently using:
Joomla 2.5.9
Virtuemart 2.0.26d
