Dear all, i hope you can help me. Searched entire forum, but could fine solution to my specific problem:

After upgrade from vm 2.0.6 to vm 2.0.24 following problem occurred:

if a product uses only one category: under the product itself all categories are shown. example:
http://tuinboeken.com/webwinkel/1797-4f3e123f274d5-detail.html
This product has only one as category: composteren - bemesten

if a product uses more categories: all is fine, no categories are shown under the product itself. example:
http://tuinboeken.com/webwinkel/tuinieren-4f3e11a75c9a8/composteren-bemesten-4f3e11ab53e05/1103-4f3e12115a551-detail.html
This product uses 3 categories:
composteren - bemesten
diverse tuinieren
Lekturama-serie

We would like no categories under the product itself, so the same as when product uses more than one category
It took me all morning to figure out where the problem was as some products were oke, some not. So i hope you will help me to solve this problem.

f.y.i.:
virtuemart 2.0.24
Joomla 2.5.14

You are using template overrides. They will need editing to correctly show the VM output which has changed a lot since VM2.0.6 Updated override files may be available from the Joomla template supplier. The changes have been documented for each upgrade version, start at http://virtuemart.net/index.php?option=com_content&id=416and work backwards.

Also see the third paragraph here: http://virtuemart.net/news/latest-news/446-important-security-release-vm-team-at-joomladay-germany

"The big steps were between 2.0.0-2.0.12. In case of an update from a pretty old version, it might be better to start with the original vm2.0.22c layouts and reimplement the customisations."

Dear jenkinhill

Thanks for your reply. I understand a lot has changed since VM 2.0.6.

But... if i don't use override, so i put in the backend of VM (templates) all on default...i presume all should be in good order? but it isn't:

Still categories are shown below the articles as stated here above in this topic,
We use wishlist component of 2KWeb Solutions and the wishlist button disappears.

This is beyond my knowledge i am afraid  :'(

There is also a change in VM versions 2.0.22+ in that the so called "Categories"  layout has been removed - I think that old view is what you see under those products, but I have no idea why. Possible your menu links include reference to that old layout.

You could try renaming your categories override file directory - it should be at yourtemplate/html/com_virtuemart/categories/  and the VM default one which is probably still there at components/com_virtuemart/views/categories

Test on a backup copy of the site, of course.

BTW the Autson Share This module you are using may contain malicious code - ISTR it was mentioned on the Joomla 2.5 security forum. Try http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=795946

Dear jenkinhill

Again thanks for yr reply

i have tested all you have suggested here above except: i don't have an override in my template regarding virtuemart.

i have renamed VM default one which is at components/com_virtuemart/views/categories, and put the template in the backend of VM to default.. my wishlist button is gone and still all categories are shown.

As no results, i changed it back to what it was.

Is it possible i provide you with the ftp and backend joomla account details by PM? I would be very thankfull if you take a look into ftp and backend :)

Regarding Autson... i will uninstall it tomorrow. Thanks for the advise!

edit: have removed following code. could not find the code as stated in that topic:

<p class="dnn">By A <a href="http://www.autson.com/" title="Web Design">Web design Company</a></p>

Sorry, I don't do "home visits". My client accounts manager worked out that I used to spend too much time doing that rather than running my own businesses.

Nobody else has reported an issue like yours - but as you are using a template generated by Artisteer then my first thought was indeed to overrides and css issues. You could try switching to the Beez20 Joomla template just to see if then the products display properly.
