Hello Forum,

My business model requires me to use Virtuemart as both store and catalogue...if possible.

1. Is it possible to use Virtuemart as both store and catalogue without hacking?

A. For example can certain catagories of products be set up with the standard storefeatures ...
B. Can other catagories be set up only as catalogue items?

Virtuemart Version 2.0.22c

Please advise,

Romello

This is very easy and has been answered several times already in these forums.

Set up templates as usual for the store part, and use template overrides for the catalogue section to remove the add to cart code. Overrides can be set on a category or an individual product basis.

The current set of templates does not have a product layout that does not display "add to cart"

You will need to create a new template to be used for certain categories.  This can then be applied as an override when you configure a category.

If you want to access new functionality or stay current with VM template modifications, make sure you maintain this template override whenever VM changes take place to the main product template display

Thank you Jenkinhill and Hutson!   I'll research the templating and overides system a bit.
