Force template background change after search function

We have a website here, the customer requested a colour sort feature whereby customers can look at products based on colour. We utilised a simple search function to achieve this and it works if the product colour is mentioned in the name or description.

The customer requires that after each search, the sites background colour change to the corresponding product colour. Ie search RED and the background develops a shaded/textured red version of the templates green version.

Can anyone assist me? This is a make or break feature, if we cant deliver on this we lose the job.
