Hi

I have Joomla 1.5.26 with virtuemart 2.0.4 installed and have just tried to add 2 categories, but the thumbnail is not showing, even though I have uploaded the images to /images/stories/virtuemart/categories and /images/stories/virtuemart/categories/resized and put the image name with the full link into the url section in the category page.

Could anyone tell me why the images are not showing?  They doing this http://www.c-corner.co.za/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=categories&virtuemart_category_id=0&Itemid=4

Please would someone help me?

I have just added a test product to the test1 category and not even those images are showing :(

So now its product and category images :(

Hi eternity,

Your real answer might be found in the software : ? you have a brand new site you use Cpanel software that would easiy configure 2.5.6 joomla and VM 2.0.10 ( software) ? your template is young - you need to update. also you are showing the login user name to your site on the page?

Hi John

The hosting provider is not new, just the installation of joomla 1.5.26 and virtuemart 2.0.4, before it had an html website up.  I have no clue where to find what cpanel version is being used.

Other joomla based sites work fine, it is just this one, which i have installed as a test to get the tables i need in phpmyadmin for easy upload of 2800 products on the original domain.

What do you mean my template is young?

Not that I know of, you can use user and demo to get into the backend of this installation.

Thank you for your response, I do hope you can help me.

What I am saying is that your site is new (not your provider) if this is a new installation then use. Use These versions: not 1.5 too old.

http://www.joomla.org/download.html  2.5.6 joomla Version

then install

http://virtuemart.net/downloads 2.0.10 version

then use a template : for 2.5 version and away we go.

Thank- never a good idea to give away your user and password for any site - so change that right now.

Do you have access to Cpanel? as demo is not the user name for it ?  your access to Cpanel is from this link

http://www.c-corner.co.za:2082/

you must have used Cpanel to upload or install Joomla? so change your web site password and user name ASAP. and try and install - the latest versions ( unless- unless the products were already on a VM1 site?) and you are going to try and update.

the 2800 products from where - did you have an old site some where where these were online or are you about to upload these new?
also your php version is too low - PHP Version 5.2.17  needs to be 5.3 plus - ask your provider to upgrade you - this should be free.

The products were basically perfect on VM1.0.4 but I was told I can not upgrade directly from VM 1.0.4 to 2.0.4 and I havent upgraded joomla or virtuemart because I am worried about it being unstable.

Is VM2.0.4 not compatible with J1.5.26?

The user and pwd I supplied is not for cpanel, I created a user on the site for you and gave you those details.

I have the products in a csv which was downloaded from the VM1.0.4 version but now with the upgrade I have to reupload all the products again, so what I am actually trying to do is find out what tables are used in phpmyadmin so that it will make this easier.

Will upgrading the php on the server affect the other sites on joomla 1.5.26?

Thank you for your help

Ok - this is an upgrade issue ?  and yes there has to be slow steps.

2.0.10 will work with 1.5.26 php 5.3 version but.....

I did realise that the password was not for Cpanel.  But still not good to show it in your post to the world.

It should not affect other sites but I presume they will be at least 1.5.26 joomla?

With the images - you might have to manually FTP them to the site into the correct image folders - especially for the next set of upgrades to VM2 versions.  http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=102783.0

Only do one at a time , when finally you see the first appear then do the lot.

1.0.4 to 1.5.26 to 2.5.6 yes big jump - I have not done that for quite a few years -

Do you maybe know which tables are used by VM2.0.10?  Also is Vm2.0.10 Stable?

I can download Vm2.0.10 and install that after uninstalling the Vm2.0.4 that is on the domain now right?

For the one www.c-corner.co.za I ftp the images into /images/stories/virtuemart/categories and /images/stories/virtuemart/products respectively, then in the backend I put in the url under the images tab and it is not showing, now if I upgrade to Vm2.0.10 how would I fix the issue I am having now on Vm2.0.4?
