Hello all,

I'm already looking for 2 weeks for a good search extensions
The requierments for the extensions are
Search field
Option to filter the categories (for users(frontend))
option to search on prices

I already tried the extension from joomdonation, but that one is not showing the product images and it is not linking to the product page

Does someone know an awesome extension for this?

Thanks in regards

+1 on Custom Filters.

Tried several Search Extensions and this seems to be the best supported so far.  Submitted a support ticket and it was answered in a matter of hours.

Look forward to the Price filtering coming in!

The price filtering was added in the latest stable version. It offers search within a price range using a slider ,textinputs or both.

Updated and working - just the 'plugin based' custom fields to go ;)

Also, still get categories at the top of search results for some reason -must be something in the settings but cant work it out!

I think they will get away disabling the "Show Children Category" in the Virtuemart configuration.
Its using the Virtuemart category layout, so its display is handled 100% by VM
