at http://www.bmesoft.cz/index.php/cs/software/virtuemart-2-addons (http://www.bmesoft.cz/index.php/cs/software/virtuemart-2-addons) is released plugin, which allows you to add another optional products to main product while discount or exact price can be defined as a customfield.
Checking such an accessory in product detail and adding main product to cart then leads to adding of the accessory into the cart.
By this way it is possible to create marketing or promo actions with special promo prices or just accessories with no special price (eg. some cartriges are accessory to some printers).
Setup of the plugin is easy and described at link given above.

Want to add monogram option. If they select it there are 4 different ones each with a different price to add to product. then they enter the text and color of thread.

main problem is price doesn't add to product. in main cart it will subtract as discount total cart price. i like your demo example. is it easy to configure? i bought product builder but difficult to figure out then not user friendly for customer as they must use the menu link and not just go to product.

yes, it's very easy - you just define one product customfiled of plugin type and then you for desired product set the addons in customfield page.

sorry to have so many questions. i am a web designer but new to virtue mart and am not very technical. i've tried so many things and spent hours on forums and am confused and frustrated. shopping carts aren't my specialty and probably need to find someone who can contract for us to set up shopping carts and so forth.
so i just download the plugin and set up in vm2? i am having issue, as i've seen others are too, that custom field that needs to add price is not adding, but working like a discount and subtracting from total amount on cart. will this plug in work around that?

This plugin seems to work "OK" but, price shown for each item is always 0, no matter what you put, and if you use 1 instead of -1 the add to cart dont work. Also I get a 50% dicount at the bottom of the page (although i have 3 products in the plugin one with 10-20 and 50%).

Anyone got this working on 2.0.20a?
for me once a discounted item is added to the cart it is applying the full price instead of the discounted price.
Really need this so if not is there anything else working with 2.0.20a which is similar to this product?
