Using last version vm2.0.0RC3 E
- seems it's not possible to define a quantity break (volume) prices with vm2. This feature was apparently removed.
(i.e. for the same product:  price 100 for if ordered between 1 -> 10; price 90 if ordered between 11 -> 20, etc)
- is there an alternative? Will this feature be added in future versions ?

note that table _virtuemart_product_prices still has fields: product_price_vdate, product_price_edate, price_quantity_start, price_quantity_end fields, but these are not filled up or used by calculation rules.

There exist already a written plugin. We think about to move all calculation mathops in the plugins and provide a simpel plugin with simpel quantity and sell a really professional one for 40 euro, or to enhance it more and sell it for 10-20 euro. I think it will cost a bit at begin and we will provide more and more in a free plugin. For exampel it does atm not work with quantity based discounts like,.. buy 3 of x, get 1 y for free.

Please help me understand the previous post. I currently have a site in 1.1.19 that is using the quantity/price/shopper group pricing and I would like to migrate it to VM2. Based on your message it appears that a plugin is available for the basics. It also appears that there may be an advanced plugin later for a price.

1. If there is a plugin available now, how do I make it active or use it to create the quantity/price/shopper group setup? Actually, I know you're busy so rather than telling me how, maybe directing me to resources would be better. I have searched the forums and resource that I know. It may be that I'm just looking in the wrong place.

2. If there is a plugin that will be forthcoming, is it in the works? Any estimate time for release (RC)? We are more than willing to pay for a plugin. The same goes with one time costs for VM2 if that is required later on. Now is a good time for me to migrate the website that we created and I would prefer to use Joomla 1.7 and VM2. I have been very pleased with what I have seen of VM2 so far. Thank you to all of the developers for the work.

Was this plugin released?  What is it called?

The quantity plugin is ready. We sell that for 30 €. Write a pm to me, when you are interested.

The plugin has the following features:
It extends an existing rule, so it you can choose your own arithmetic method and it is also depending on category, shoppergroups, country, states, and date.

You can set an amount condition for a fixed value, or a test if it is dividable by. For example, you want to discount only full packages.

Additionally to that you can add a table with min, max values and an override value. The example below shows a quantity discount for 5,10,15,20 with 10% and for more than 21 if dividable by 5 (25,30,...) with 20%.

There is an additionally extra arithmetic method, for a logarythmic disocunt.

I need discount by quantity and I like to see the feature of discount by quantity in a section, independent of product buyed. (exist one hack to vm1 that do can this)

I am wondering if this plugin will support this scenario:

I have a shop with three top-level categories, one of which is Photographs. This category has several child categories (nature, scenic, floral, etc.)

Each product has several attributes:
Single Notecard
Set of 4 notecards
4X6 print
5x7 Print

I want to have a $3 discount applied to the shopping cart whenever multiples of 4 SINGLE NOTECARDS are purchased.  So if a shopper buys 6 single notecards, a single $3 discount is applied. If a shopper buys 8 single notecards, a $6 discount is applied. If the discount has to be per product, the $3 total discount can be translated to a $.75 discount per product for each of the 4 single notecards.

Is this possible?
If not, how much will someone charge me to create this?

I need an explanatin for how this plugin is supposed to work. Maybe I'm stupid but I can't see how I can set different prices for a single product depending on the quantity the customer order.

For example on product has a gross price of 1049.00 but if you buy more than 10 units it will cost 949.00, another product cost 1499.00 gross and if you buy more than 10 units it will be 1325.00

Firstly it look as I only can set a rule to a category, not for a specific product.

And why should I set up general rules when I need this setting in the product view, for the product?

Have I missed something?

Yes, you have missed that in each product you can assign calculation rules, inside the product

Yes I know that but that also means that I have to make one special rule for each product in another view than rather doing it in the product pricing view. See may example and explain how I should do that, I haven't figured it out yet.

Since it is a calculation method it will get quite complicated when I only want to set a price for more than 10 items. Or...?

It is a lot different than the simple way it was done in VM 1.1

PRE-SALES Question.
I d' like to assign different percentage discounts for different client groups, but with the following options:
- Some categories won't have any discount for any reason.
- If a group member connects as this, he/she won't have a discount added to his/her group's one. The not-registered clients will do have, just p.e. for the category X or product, set as promotion tool.

This method it's the core of my customer oriented business and I would realy appreciate an answer (or an extented payed mod).

I struggle with the print screen.  ::) But as it is mostly for percentage discounts, it needs programming skills, which I don't have. (Payed programmer suggestion accepted.)

I downloaded and installed the quantity pricing plugin without problem.  I am trying to figure out how to use this though.  Do we have some instructions available yet? 

I am guessing the Min/Max are for the quantities of the item.  The Over Write Value is the price per item, but I am not sure what Modus: Amount Condition means or how to use this.   Is this for a character/function - + = %  or a numeric condition?  How do I set additional price breaks for the same rule?  In your screen shot there were 2 lines for min/max and overwrite value. 

I was able to assign the calculation to the exact product, which is pretty cool.  However I am dealing with over 450 products! 

I am sure this is easy once we get the hang of it like how the product otions are different from VM 1.

I forgot to mention I am also getting an error in the mini cart for the product I am dealing with:

"Warning: Division by zero in /home/wereport/public_html/plugins/vmcalculation/istraxx_quantity/istraxx_quantity.php on line 216"

This may be just an error because of how I have the calculation setup, which is probably incorrect!

I have been trying to follow the example in the PDF instructions, http://virtuemart.cloudaccess.net/images/stories/virtuemart/product/plgvm_istraxx_quantity_manual.pdf.  But something is not working correctly.  The discount is not showing up at all.  There is no variation of the price. 

I enclosed a screen shot of my quantity discount that I am trying to add. 

Basically I want to give a 10% discount for quantities > 4 and < 11.  And I want to give a 15% discount to quantities between 12 and 20.

I have tried many variations of this and nothing seems to be working.

I'm getting the hang of the quantity price through the algorithm, which is pretty neat.  Is there a way to actually display the available quantity pricing on the products page?  This way we can actually show the customers 'the more you shop the more you save'!!  Would like to show price breaks on the product page.

I should create unpublished category for the products that has no discount rules or for products that have already discount rule ? Those products that has discount rule works fine, the problem is with products without any rule.

So I should create unpublished category and add there ALL my products without any discount rule ? It will be quite a lot of work..

I have a category called

"10 or more"
I have a discount of when you buy 10 or more of a product., and assign the discount to "10 or more" category only.

THEN, assign the products that I want to have the 10 or more discount to the "10 or more category"

For me it is very weird when product without any discount rule has discount! (I am talking about quantity plugin discounts).

I think it is a bug. It should be like this : product (or category if set in the rule) has quantity discount if the rule is assigned to product (or to category inside the rule), but now I got discount without rule also.

Also sometimes I delete the rule, save, refresh and I got the rule again but I didn't selected it.. Some kind of bug also (related to the discount being applied without any rule) ?

One solution is to create empty rule and assign to product that should not have any discount.

Could you investigate this situation ?

No, you do not understand the calculation rules. When you create a calculation rule, without any dependency, it counts everytime for all products. For example the tax.

When you want that no rule counts for a product, use the calculation rule override in the product edit.

so my setup is

Plugin VMCALCULATION_VMISTRAXX_QUANTITY  2.0.2

Working fine on the discount of a product volume but need to to work when the total cart quantity eg combination of different product is over the quantity define. eg mixed dozen of wines need to have a discount.
