Vmart 2.0 uses native joomla language folder for language files.
SINCE Jooomla 1.7 (and all Joomla series after ) Has Language Override Ability Now.
WHAT this means: You DO NOT change the original virtuemart language files when you want to change the text.
In the language folder you will have an override folder.
1st: Copy the line of text you want to change in the original language file.
2nd: Paste the Text in the Override file.
3rd: Change the Text in the override file to what you want.

! IMPORTANT!!! The encoding must be correct. Best way to make sure its correct if you are not familiar. Make a copy of a language file. Rename it to en-GB.override
Then, delate all the strings, then, start adding your overrides to it"
THIS, keeps the changes from being changed when you update virtuemart.
YOU: Can also add your own language strings in the override folder.
You can also go to the language manager, and add your own overrides
administrator/index.php?option=com_languages&view=overrides
