I've seen this topic since VM1.1 back in 2007 and i still don't see it being addressed as a standard feature - or am i missing something? oscommerce does this no problem.
real simple for each product i want to specify what it's shipping cost is. This is not a big deal. Having it as a product attribute is not a solution that will work for me because the amount does not show up in the Shipping & Handling line item. I shouldn't have to go in and hack code either. Really its quite the standard, typical feature for almmost all shopping carts. Any word as to when VM will have it in standard release?
