Title: [SOLVED] VirtueMart_1.1.0_RC3 COMPLETE_PACKAGE.j15 not installable?

I tryed to install the component com_virtuemart_1.1.0_RC3.j15.zip but I get:
ERROR: Could not find a Joomla! XML setup file in the package.
Is this the wrong way to install the language pack?

Hi,

Did you try to install the whole zip in one go? You need to extract the first zip file to get to the files inside it, then install them as either components or modules.

Hi Will, thank you for trying to help. I know what you mean, that was also how I understand the process.
This is what I did exactly, and what did not work:
I downloaded the VirtueMart_1.1.0_RC3-COMPLETE_PACKAGE.j15.zip, extracted it and tryed to install the contained com_virtuemart_1.1.0_RC3.j15.zip.

by the way, my details:

VirtueMart Version:
VirtueMart 1.1.0 RC3

Joomla/Mambo Version:
Joomla! Version: Joomla! 1.0.15 Stable [ Daytime ] 22 February 2008 23:00 UTC
User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)

Steps to replicate:
- install VirtueMart 1.1.0 RC3
- download the language pack for 1.1.0 RC3
- extract the zip
- install the com_virtuemart_1.1.0_RC3.j15.zip file using the component-install place from the joomla admin page.

VirtueMart_1.1.0_RC3-COMPLETE_PACKAGE.j15.zip is for Joomla 1.5.x

You are using Joomla 1.0.15 so you should download and install VirtueMart_1.1.0_RC3-COMPLETE_PACKAGE.zip (No j15 in the filename)

Or even better, the latest nightly build of RC3 from http://dev.virtuemart.net/cb/proj/doc.do?doc_id=1328

Aha. Thank you for the hint, the link on the page https://dev.virtuemart.net/cb/wiki/1693 is wrong.

The link called VirtueMart 1.1.0 RC3 Language Pack https://dev.virtuemart.net/cb/proj/doc/details.do?doc_id=1925 (https://dev.virtuemart.net/cb/proj/doc/details.do?doc_id=1925) points to the complete package download for joomla 1.5.
It should point to https://dev.virtuemart.net/cb/proj/doc.do?doc_id=1005 (https://dev.virtuemart.net/cb/proj/doc.do?doc_id=1005) where one can select the language package file:Language_Pack_for_VirtueMart_1.1.0_RC3.zip

Actually I did not see how to install this, it just contains a "languages" directory and is not uploadable as component or module, and there is nothing in the manual. Im gonna take a closer look at the files now.

The language files are installed by ftp.
