Hello,
is there a component, module, plugin, or any way to assign "Related Products" automatically in the Product Form Custom Fields?
Right now, everything is manually picked, but when a related product gets deleted, there has to be another one manually assigned, and this is very time consuming.
Anyone has knowledge about?
a deleted product is a deleted product.
I don't know what you're talking about.
Yes, and an eaten peanut butter sandwich is an eaten peanut butter sandwich.
how would a script automatically know what qualifies as a "Related product"?

That is why I asked if there is something available. If I would know, I would not have asked. ;-)

I am pointing out how could an extension be coded when there would be totally different ideas by shop owners as to what is a valid related product..
To build such an extension is of course possible but it falls into the category of a one off bespoke effort that is then generally unsaleable to defray dev costs.. like so many proposals that are often made by clients ..
So the only solution is to finance the complete dev and build yourself.
You mean perhaps a module displayed in the product that auto set the related products.
For eg. Products orderedby at same time as this product
This type of logic need to have many orders to be usefull.
FOr eg. If you have 1000 products in your shop, i estimate, you need more then 5000 orders to have nice results

CUSTOMERS WHO BOUGHT links to tutorial (and no demo) are broken, so i'm not sure you get support

Already tried it. Does not work. Seems very old.
Sadly this seems the case for a few extensions on VM extensions... :(
but I guess it wouldn't be so difficult to code something .. a plugin that keeps a table updated with pids that were looked at in a session..
a module that displays products from that table related to the current pid they are on...
but would never be very accurate
