I guys, i noticed that on my installation (joomla 3.8.12 - VM 3.4.2) the VM search module (in sidebar) work only on the category you are in. If you search products from other categories doesn't work. For example: if you search "cat" in "feline" category works fine but if you search "cat" in "birds" it doesn't show any result.
I tried disabling "Search Filter Category" but still doesn't work.
Any suggestion? TY!
search on here for the solution .. this has been answered before .. think it was either a manual change to the catid submit in the module template or maybe the "Search Filter Category" no in the setting .. cant remember as I never use this module

HI, thanks for the help. What kind of module do you use instead?
rarely use search modules .. with a clear and logical nav system in many cases a search isn't needed

How can I check if that's the case?
Try this for a starter:
