I've child products created using multi-variant fields (importing them with CSVI pro).
If I open a child i'm not able to close, save and close or save any modification on it.
Using Joomla! 3.8.7 and VirtueMart 3.2.12 and upgraded to VirtueMart 3.2.14 with no luck.
PHP-Version 5.6.14-0+deb8u1

First check the javascript console(F12), if you see an error when you click on save or save and close .
If you have PHP debug on in Joomla config or Virtuemart, disable report,But i do not think that's the problem.
Thank you but no error in javascript console and the behavior is the same with VMDebug off
The problem seems disappeared... don't know why :(
Perhaps a customfield plugin, or the old javascript was in cache?
I have save problem when i update, because i cache javascript files and in this case opening console(F12) refresh the cache if you check "disable cache".
No changes before the problem came out. I made the update trying to solve it
I am facing the same problem, can't use "save", "save and close" buttons in the child product, is there any solution to this problem?

I've searched this forum a lot, but haven't found a solution that is practical. Hope this time someone will help me find the solution

oh, my plugin version is using 3.0.3 and the actual version is 4.2.0, will updating to the new version help me to solve the problem?

285 children? check the slugs. Maybe it is an accidently new limit
I have no good clue. I can only guess. Have you talked to the plugin developer ? What do they say ?
