Title: Lots of 404 errors for products [Solved]
Post by: p.barg on November 23, 2017, 15:25:14 PM
Hello,
after updating to VM3.2.6 I get a lot of 404 errors for products in some shops. Some products still work, others don't and can't see the difference between them.
Any help?

Petra

After selecting an explicit language for the shop, the problem is gone.

After selecting an explicit language for the shop, the problem is gone.

That is the reason for that option. In case products dissapear, it is maybe need to use english as language for the tables. You can still run the shop in german (Joomla language in german).

Why was that option added? What is it doing beyond breaking the URLs in shops who are updating?
How does it work together with the multilingual shop setting? Is it like a default shop language, and if so, why not name it 'Default shop language', which is less confusing?

And why do users need to read code and search the forum after updating the system, to figure out which changes was made, that broke their shop again? If you add a new setting like this, that most likely breaks the shops updating, why not highlight the need to look at it in the release news?
