I have set up normal categories for my store ( Clothes industry) now i want to create a sales menu where i keep the layout of categories and not just bulk show every product. I was thinking of creating the same tree but only use it to store the items that i want to show in sales menu. Is there another way of doing that or is my way of thinking the proper way to act?

You could add "SALES" as a top level category and add subcats to those. Assign products to the relevabt sales category as well as their normal category (if you wish). Each product may belong to several categories.
