it can be done with just a few lines of PHP. Surely Virtuemart Development experts can do this much better, so any

To do this, best is to write a content plugin (or a module) and not integrate directly your code in the template
Sounds like a cleaner solution - would you mind sharing such a plugin / module ? I need to stay within the time budget....
