Title: vmError: VmTableData Sef Alias is missing [help!]
Post by: Maniacal_Industries on September 21, 2015, 20:35:25 PM
Hello all, newbie here with a problem after migration. Whenever I attempt to edit and save any changes to a Payment Method I get the dreaded "vmError: VmTableData Sef Alias in record is missing! Can't save the record with no Sef Alias."

This was not a problem on the test site (same hosting company, Bluehost) and I have tried every "solution" which I could find on the forum, and beyond. The main issue here is that I have bosses breathing down my neck about the site now that we've launched and we cannot process authorize.net payments without being able to edit it! Also tried to create a new payment method with same results.

Any help greatly appreciated and thank you very much for your time!

Installed Joomla! 2.5.24
VirtueMart     2.6.20
Apache Version    2.2.29
PHP Version    5.4.24
MySQL Version    5.5.42-37.1-log
Architecture    x86_64
Operating System linux

did you also update your AIO?

Remember  .. if worst case you can simply change the plugin parameters manually in #__virtuemart_paymentmethods -> payment_params field

Yep, both core and AIO were updated in order.

This error happens on a few other admin pages as well strangely and we'll need to be able to edit reliably. At my wits end with this, considering just scrubbing the whole thing and doing a fresh joomla install with the working version of VM (from my dev site) and just hope that works.

Thanks for your reply!

Yes, the Unicode error is an older one and appears to have affected non-Latin char sets. I've tried everything I could find and no good. Currently backing up files in prep to wipe the site and reinstall from scratch. /sad

Thanks again for the response!
