Title: Cannot Save Changes in VM configuration
Post by: icsd02008 on August 01, 2015, 14:46:59 PM
Hello, and thanks in advance.
Just installed a new Joomla and VM version.
I can save in everything in VM but changes in configuration. I press"Save", tries to save, and after approximately 20-30 seconds a "405 Not Allowed message" appears.

I am using:
Joomla 3.4.3 (fresh copy with no extra extensions/plugins)
PHP 5.3.29
VM 3.0.9 (fresh copy with no products, just installed it)
frontend url: http://icarusweb.gr/test5/
server: hostgator

any suggestions why this is happening?

Have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling?

It's not something I've encountered before, but as you're working on a fresh install of both Joomla and VM, it might be just as easy to wipe it all and set everything up again on a fresh database. I don't think it's related, but your PHP version appears to be outdated and should be a minimum of 5.4, for security purposes if nothing else. I don't think it would affect your ability to get Joomla and Virtuemart up and running though.

the vm3.0.9 is not a good version, the vm3.0.9.4 is quite good. But at the moment the  3.0.9.10 is the last RC http://dev.virtuemart.net/attachments/download/961/com_virtuemart.3.0.9.10_extract_first.zip .
It is now tested since 4 weeks and we removed really a lot small problems.

But for the future, if you want to "reinstall" vm, just use the tools.
"Reset all tables and install sample data" => Fresh installation based on installed files with sampledata
or "Install or if necessary update tables " => executing the update process
