Title: Editing "Tax" label to "GST" or "GST Incl."
Post by: wyvernsrose on November 14, 2014, 05:54:53 AM
Excuse the question it is Probably the Simplest thing on EARTH!

But I am SLEEP Deprived (not due to working on this) and I have been googling for anything related for weeks and I don't know if its in the template or a module or a plug in or a frig knows where sits the Label for TAX.....I don't cos I ain't found it and Iv been digging....but I am sleep deprived remember this....lines merge and wave and dance

Ok I need the Label of "tax" to be changed on product pricing across the board including in the cart invoice and product listings.

Is this a case of tracking down a dozen strings in a dozen files. or is it hiding in one isolated little file I have dug up yet. I would love to know thanks for all the help! and patience! and lack of snide responses about what a stupid question it is.....iv been searching for a couple of weeks between working on other stuff and so far found Nada Zip Zilch to say where the bugger is....and its really starting to BUG me....

Edit: Oh Virtuemart 2.6.10 on Joomla 2.5.27 using Horne template its such a pretty little thing.....

oh and your Capcha thingumy might screw with bots....but its a NIGHTMARE for someone in my state.....

Thanks that was amongst my attempts and the search wasn't providing any results....now it is.....:s

At some stage the Grammar in Virtuemart really needs a Clean up, I don't think those writing it Realise the T in GST and VAT is TAX so it doesn't need to be called a goods and services Tax TAX

Well.....that didn't work even after overriding every related entry of every language installed....no change....hmmmm

EDIT: Solution found....it was in the en-GB file....and used by en-US and en-AU once id done the Overrides for en-GB I copy and pasted the Key's over to en-AU and entered the Strings for Each.....thanks for the help well general pointing direction thingy.......looking "everywhere" was doing my head in.

There are simple tools for locating strings - on the server you can use grep  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grep

Or for local files use Agent Ransack  http://www.mythicsoft.com/agentransack
