Hi,
Just updated my VM to the latest 2.6.10 on the latest Joomla 2.5.24.
When looking into Joomla Extensions -> Extention manager -> Update and pressing the "Purge Cache" and then the "Find updates", I get the following message:
Update: :Extension: Could not open VirtueMart plg_vmuserfield_realex Update Site/extension.xml
When accessing the admin page of joomla, I see that all extensions are up to date. I have no issues with the site, only this new message.
Running "locate extension.xml" from the server command line returns no files with this name.
Please advise.

Yep, got the same message as well. Just updated to 2.6.8 from 2.6.6 on J2.5.24.
It is just related to the new realex payment plugin (it has a userplugin as well)
If your not using Realex as a payment I would just ignore
Maybe Alatak can have a look why it doesn't like the xml string?

it happens once after you purge the updater - then never again
devote your energy's to world peace, stopping global warming etc etc - more fufilling
