Is this possible? i know that there was an extension which allowed the customer to choose a different virtuemart product with attributes but is it possible that post cart an item can be removed or changed?
Any help here would be greatly recieved!

that when you have say a product with 30 different attributes and you want to change one for another - but using product builder not VM!
so your using a product builder extension? Then I think it is them you should ask...
but my gut feeling is no chance - VM can't code their code for 3rd party extensions - it's the other way around
