Here is a mind twister for you. There is actually 2 parts to this issue.
PART 1
The Virtuemart Notify Me Email sends you an email with the link to the product, which is great! BUT, if you have child products, this is a problem. The reason being, that if i select my child product, and select notify me. When i send the email through, the link in the email takes me directly to the child product, which technically is correct, but then my sidebar items do not show up etc because there is no menu item for this child product.
Now what im asking is how can i change the link in the file to go to the parent of that product instead of the actual child product.
PART 2
If i add my email to the notify me email list, and virtuemart redirects me to the product again, i cannot add any items to my cart, as it tells me that ALL my items are out of stock, even though i only have 1 out of stock.
