What is the advantage of this approach vs the built in custom fields?

CSVI Improved is useful for importing custom fields data.

How csvi can migrate the custom attribute data. In virtuemart 1.1.9 attribute are filled in a single field in database eg.no back stamp[+10]. Here "no back stamp" is name and +10 is price.  but in vm 2.0 it has two fileds value and price.

If you want my suggestion, avoid having all the attributes in a single string in the database.
Some time you may want to use some filtering in your shop. Having all the data in a single string the filtering is impossible.

Also i still cannot find any advantage of the VM1 attributes vs the VM2 custom fields.
Maybe the process was a bit faster but apart from that what else?

1. Export attributes with old CSVI Improved.
2. Convert csv file up to new CSVI Improved standards. Import.

Compare two csv files. Export 1st one from old web site. Export 2nd one from new web site. Of course you need to have some test custom fields on the new web shop.
Basically converting could be done by copy-paste technique of Open Office.
