Today it seems that a lot of virtuemart settings (online website) are reset. Settings like show prices, number of products displayed, number of rows, safe path, etc.... all that kind of settings are set back to default.
Is it somehow possible this occurs automatically, or am I hacked? I don't see any traces of it... nor does my provider.
It messed up the layout totally...
Apart from hitting the "Renew VirtueMart configuration by file " button on the tools tab there is no other way - certainly such a thing has never been reported before.
Very strange. I am certain I didn't hit that button. After I logged out, the website was still working fine. The other morning it was messed up, caused by the default settings.
Strangely in that night also a lot of tcpdf cache was generated. (see other post) Hmm... strange things are going on... I will keep my eye on it.

I really don't what it triggers. This morning everything was ok. Couple of hours later it is messed up, caused by missing configuration settings. Strange, really strange....

I don't know. Today AGAIN it is reset. As of someone runs a script or something, that will reset the virtuemart configuration.
It is easy to set things back, but whole day the website isn't functioning, till I notice.
Is it possible the log things, or block this somehow?
In such case, you need to try everything.
Check server access logs for any strange urls. Make sure Joomla is latest (all J2.5 versions before 2.0.14 have security holes) and server permissions are correct (755 directories, 644 files). Maybe install Akeeba admintools. If the site is already hacked with a backdoor, then go over to http://forum.joomla.org/viewforum.php?f=621 and see the top 2 messages.

Hi! Bumping this thread since I got exactly the same issue on my VM. Every now and then configuration settings are reverted to default (product settings on front page, thumbnail size, safe path is gone etc.)
EIF: did you figure out what the problem was? Did you find a solution?
