We tried it and it seems to work but when we add products to our cart a blank page appears.
Anybody else had luck with this? We are on VM 2.0.6 and cannot update at this time.

I Have the same problem, it seems that it do not work with the vm 2.0.6. J can't olso update VM
I tried it on a fresh J 2.5.9 VM 2.0.18 install. The product gets added to the cart but the text entered is nowhere to be found.
I contacted the author. Hopefully this wil get fixed.

For VirtueMart 2.0.6 you don't need to replace cart.php.
Being a javascript based editor, WYSIWYG can be influenced by other javascripts that your template loads.
The first step you need to do is to go to VirtueMart->Configuration->Checkout and uncheck "Display modal popup upon 'Add to cart'". Looks like wysiwyg editor doesn't save the input text if this option in VirtueMart is enable.
Also, go to VirtueMart->Configuration->Templates and be sure that the options
"Using the VirtueMart jQuery"
"Using the product Scripts"
"Use external google jQuery library"
are checked.

Can't really work on your site. I can't overwrite any of the files using ftp. First, I want to sugest to try to update your tinymce files from media/editors/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce with the files from the latest version of joomla 2.5.9. Second, uninstall the free version of your VM - textarea and then install the plugin provided by MC Web Design. You don't need to overwrite cart.php. If all these steps don't work, I sugest upgrading to the latest version of Joomla and VirtueMart. I tested the plugin for the latest versions and it works fain. Don't forget to uncheck "Display modal popup upon 'Add to cart'" from VirtueMart->Configuration->Checkout.
I managed to figure it out. I sent you the download link for the modified plugin for VM 2.0.6. For this version of VirtueMart you don't need to overwrite cart.php.
We updated the plugin for all stable versions of VirtueMart starting from VM2.0.6 to VM2.0.18a. For now, the plugin for VM2.0.6 doesn't support price by letter option, only price by total input text. For the other versions of VirtueMart the price by letter option works ok. We'll try to fix this issue also. For all versions of the plugin, don't forget to go to VirtueMart->Configuration->Checkout and uncheck "Display modal popup upon 'Add to cart'".
We are proud to announce that we have also fixed the problem with the "price by letter" option for VM 2.0.6.
Also added image upload feature (it uses image upload plugin for TinyMCE provided by http://justboil.me/).
